The manual Zip Dee on our 22FB is/can be a bear to get raised. No matter what I did, this &*@! awning contributed to marital disruption more than anything on our trips. Why Zip Dee didn't include them in all manual lift awnings as standard equipment is beyond me. We gave them a try today and found them indispensable in keeping a smile on your face while lifting the awning to it's final height. Takes a little practice to make a smooth transition but beats the previous option. So here they are attached to our Baby Doe.
