What is the best wax to use on the exterior finish?

We have a new 2018 and would like suggestions on the best wax to maintain the finish in the Pacific Northwest....nano, Met-all aluminum, Walbernize.....?

We just got our 2017 and I used a paint sealant on it. You can find a lot of good brands that are made for a clear coat finish. I used Wolfgang's paint sealer and a buffer, but you can do it by hand. I think I purchased it at Autogeek.com. Sealant will last 6 months where wax will not!

Seattle206.........My 2007 25' has been stored outside since we purchased it. I have been using Walbernize RV Super Seal on it since I purchased it and the trailer looks like it did when I purchased it. I don't know if it is the best wax, but it seems to do the job and it is easy to apply and take off.

Liquid Glass

We use Liquid glass. Goes on easy and off easy and really sheds water. I now also use it on the outside of windows on my house.

Use what you like to use on your car or truck. The use of wax on clear coat makes it easier to keep clean. If I am in a hurry I use Aerospace 303 if I am not in a hurry I use the wax that I use on my Corvette show car.

Walbernize on the body - Nu Finish on the roof. I find the roof difficult to wash and wax, so I use a long handled brush to: 1. wash the roof; 2. Put a towel around the brush to remove excess rinse water; 3. put another towel on with Nu Finish on it to spread the wax. 4. put another clean towel on the head of the brush to polish the Nu Finish. Is is perfect? No! But it gives a layer of protection.

For many years I used Liquid Glass and was happy about it. However, it left a white residue on black rubber. Then I discovered La Cera Amarilla Polish which does not leave any residue. It is easy to apply (only a little is needed) and extremely easy to wipe off yet leaving a wonderful finish. I use it twice a year on my trailer and truck.

Meguiars Ultimate is good stuff. I have used several bottles of it on various vehicles. I had no complaints. It is easy to use. However, I believe the Collinite 845 comes off even easier.

Thumbs down Nu Finish.....

......was banned at most of the Detail or Body Shops I've dealt with over the years.

Certainly better options for an Airstream.

YMMV

My vote is the Walbernize product. Super easy to apply and you don't have to worry about spraying on windows or other parts of the trailer like you would with traditional car wax. I have used since 2014 on trailer kept outside and it looks like new.

The roof is tricky and I tried walking on it once and wouldn't recommend for a job where you are working on entire roof. I bought a Little Giant ladder with scaffold set up and that is fantastic (but pricey).

We too have a new AS 2017 23D Flying Cloud (our 1st) picked up on April. We were told w/2017 AS there was a better variety of clear coat than in years past. We feel our AS is due for a shine before Fall. I have followed this stream, but am unsure if we should wax and seal after a good washing, or just wax, or just seal the finish after washing. Any advice?

Well.... I was using Nu Finish!

Actually probably still will, regardless. At least until I try Walbernize. It is easy to apply and does a good job even though I know it doesn’t last a year - none of them do.
