Stripping roof tar

Hey there first post of probably many! I recently acquired a streamline trailer and I know this is an airstream forum but I hope it's ok I'm here!

First question I have is how to best remove roof tar. Is mineral spirits ok? Also was going to use a wood or plastic scraper.
