I wouldn't use a bristle brush for washing. Try a good old fashioned sponge or a microfiber sponge instead!
Why take a chance and scratch it up?

I have used a soft bristle deck brush for years and never scratched an AS, look for a marine or yacht one, the blue ones are softer than the yellow!
easy to find on Amazon or the nets.

I went to a seminar put on by a professional detailer that does high end cars. He recommended a boar's hair bristle brush. Apparently boars have trouble with "split ends". This makes the brush very soft.

He said that sponges, and fiber brushes trap dirt and will cause scratches. I have used one on my car for nearly 15 years with no evidence of scratching. They are expensive, but I have had the same one the whole time. Properly cared for they will last forever.

A Tampico fiber brush won't scratch the clear coat. I use a wool mitt and soap to get the surface free of dirt than use the brush. Does a real nice job loosening up flotsam and jetsom.

This is what I'm using esp. for the belt line:

We use a microfiber "mop" it works better than the boars hair we have for the boat and cars. The concentrated car wash is great on all our 'stuff'.👍

IMO..NEVER use the above pictured brush on the AS panels.
Even when using the boars hair, wash horizontal, with the "grain"....carefully.😂

Wash Brush

Boar Bristle, hands down. I purchased 2 of these about 20 years ago for washing my classic show cars. They were about $65.00 each even back then.
I had some very expensive paint jobs and never a scratch from these super nice brushes. Additionally, always use 2 buckets when washing your car or Airstream. One bucket with a quality automotive (I use Turtle Wax Zip Wax) soap, (never use dish detergent), and one with clear water. Always rinse the brush in the clear water bucket before dunking into the soapy bucket on the way back to the car or Airstream. You may have to change out the clear water a couple of times when washing. Of course rinse all the junk off first before using brush. Rinse well. Have fun.

Dawn is for ducks 😂...it will remove any wax or sealer that you've spent &*^% hours applying. 😳

Dish Soap

Back in the 1990's when I was restoring cars, the first thing I would do to the greasy heap I bought, would be to wash it 4 or five times with Ivory Ultra Dish Soap. Stuff is very Caustic. I would use it everywhere. Door jambs, engine compartment, undercarriage, etc. You could almost paint the car without sanding after some aggressive treatment with that stuff. Learned that trick from an old drag racing buddy. Dawn might not be as aggressive, but Ivory Ultra is killer.
