shoulder end-panels vs. sides

I'm noticing, as I polish the rig, that the shoulder panels, the ones that are formed in three dimensions, don't polish as well as the flat panels next to them. Is there something in the forming process that gives them a slight orange peel texture, or am I nuts?

Nope...you're not nutz....well, if you are - so are we!

We thought ours (on '64 GT) had a different grain/texture on them then the flat panels too. Must be something in the forming process that changes the surface...which makes sense if you think about it. We eventually got the corners to shine as well as the rest...but not until several extra passes compounding ~

Haven't polished the '56 yet to see if it's the same...

Couple more passes and you'll be there...looking good now!
