I used denatured alcohol on a clearcoated car. It did a great job and didn't damage the finish.
Flood the area and don't rub hard.

Hi
Turpentine is a solvent made from pine. It may work when other things do not.

When at Disney last year, the trees dropped their sap in several places on the Airstream. Very sticky and difficult to get off. I ended up using alcohol and micro fiber towels. Like previously mentioned, don't rub hard. Let the alcohol do the work. WD40 didn't touch it. My opinion. Mike

Pine rosin
We recently came back from Florida and discovered pine rosin on ours. Looks like it baked on the skin. I also need help. Is plain alcohol ok or does it have to be denatured?

Believe it or not, if you smear plain old peanut butter on a glob of sap, leave it awhile (even overnight) you can then (usually) simply wipe the sap/peanut butter off with a paper towel.
It works on cars, anyway...

Hand sanitizer is what the pros use. It has alcohol but is thick so it stays on the sap. Leave it for a minute or two and wipe off. Works for cars and Airstream. Been using it for years and never damaged any finish.

Hi
What actually removes the sap in that case is the bear coming by in the middle of the night to lick it off

WD40 works great and won't tarnish your finish. It also takes off road tar, grease, old dead bugs, anything your car or trailer pick up

Thanks for all the suggestions. We’d try the peanut butter but for two things: were in bear country (!) and the only PB we have on hand is $5 jar. Carl bought GooGone to try.
