Polishing in Texas?

Can anyone recommend an individual or company who can polish our 1961 Safari in the Houston-Austin area?

Not really a "recommendation", but there is usually an add on the Austin Craigslist for polishing.

Try this: http://austin.craigslist.org/rvs/2164419249.html

Try this: Polish & Remodel Service.
This guy's name is Diego. I've seen his work. He used to work for Eric Stoltz.

I have also seen a flyer at the service counter of Camper Clinic 2 for "Austin Truck Polishing".

Might be worth a trip to Ft.Worth.There are some detailers in Saginaw (outside of Ft.Worth)I have their card at my office.I think it is called Extreme Detail.I stopped by one day for a visit.
I have seen the work and they estimated$700 for a 28ft.Amb.
They use the bar method and do nice work.
Takes a couple of days.(I think they have 12 elves on staff.)

Hmmmm. Might need to drive out to Texas and get my old girl polished for the first time in probably at least 35 years... Maybe longer. With my neck issues, I am thinking I'm going to need big help!

You've seen his work -- so, is it good?
Thanks!

Diego has been recommended to me as well; I haven't actually seen his work. Eric Stolz is a guy in New Braunfels who does maintenance and restores/sells Airstreams.

Eric Stoltz owns Texas Vintage Travel Trailers.

Diego can polish and does an a good job, but I am unaware of his costs. I have also heard of truck/plane polishers in Texas that actually come to you. Met one of them at the TX Vintage Rally last year.

The weather here in St. Louis is wintry mix with sleet and snow right now, and I cannot wait to get down to the family in San Antonio.

As for the St. Louis area, I have never had any of my trailer polished in the area, but I would look into truck or plane polishing.

Steve

Austin Metal Polish Call Scott at 512 799-1751. He does a great job, I've seen his work. He'll come to your place. He did the trailer that Miranda Lambert has shown in the Spring "Airstream Life" Magazine.

He normally has an ad in Austin Craigslist, but I haven't seen one from him lately. His old ads are not listed either. You may also want to check these guys out.

My understanding is that E.Stolz vintage trailers is defunct, no one answers the phone and building is abandoned. Did he turn back up somewhere?

Jerri,
He is working out of his house/acreage in NB. He has never returned my call or answered an email so don't feel like the lone ranger. I went to his place with Soldiermedic Steve.

plata I know a guy in Austin I have been sending some over to him I do polishing and have had an ad on the forms for a while but we are work camping in San Marcos for a few months and unable to travel to polish right now. he also does floor work and frame work his name is Sonido Kobra 512 803 0137, he has a shop close to airport rd and has 3 units being refirb with polish and floors. if you need more info you can PM me also If the prices people tell you make sure they are in line with the amount of work no hidden charges example when I bid on a polish I let the person Know that it includes the striping , the material and light removal and all material polished normally belt-line and above and reseal of seams, these are the things to look for and ask and get in writing. I have had to fix some units that others have done thats how I know this.

I went by Camper Clinic II the other day to get some waste fittings. I think Scorpiontimo was there buying some Bambi lights? The next day I saw on their blog a picture of the Go awful yellow 66ish safari.
Anyway, I picked up the flyer that I mentioned previously. It is for "Airstream Trailer Polishing" the guy's number is 512-799-1751 Scott.

His # is 512-803-0137, but I've never used him personally. As Others have said, he used to work for Eric Stoltz, and now has branched off to do some work on his own.

He can be seen posting on austin craigslist from time to time...
