Need help Removing an Emblem

I’m having a problem removing a very large stick-on emblem the PO placed on the upper front curbside panel. It is about 12” in diameter. A silver “seal of the state of NC”. Nothing wrong with that, it’s just that her new home is in Florida.

I just can’t get it off. I’ve used goo gone, goof off, paint thinner, mineral spirits, and the PR-5044 peroxide activated stripper we used to remove the clear coat. I haven’t tried wet sanding as I am hesitate to scratch it too much.

It is a stubborn emblem, just won’t let go. Please, I’m available to all suggestions. HELP!!!!

And Thanks!

TMT,
Just spent quite a few hours removing factory vinyl decals and pinstripping from my 1994 Roadtrek class B. My son and I used a heat gun to warm up the decal adhesive, then a plastic "puddy knife" to scrape and peel the decals. Then,we soaked (and tried EVERY adhesive remover known to man) to remove the residue.(denatured alchol worked OK) Taping a rag soaked with the remover and allowing time for penetration helped.....note....not responsible for any temper tandrums you may have while doing the job!....walt...tulsa,ok

Hello TMT

I believe it was Inland RV that mentioned how to remove the numbers from an airstream. They recommended putting a wet towel over the number, then applying a hot iron. I used this method to remove my old numbers and it worked like a charm. You might give it a try! - I hope you get it off without harm. -- Don

You could use one of these - pinstripe eraser wheel. You can buy them at auto parts stores in the body repair supplies area.
