GOJO! First cut for heavy oxidation

So it's unconventional I know, but I have areas that are really heavily oxidized and while washing up last night I thought how gojo hand cleaner would work. WOW. First cut knocked the heavy oxidation down and then I followed with diamond brite. Works really well.

What I noticed is that Gojo aggragate breaks down under heavy scrubbing into a fine material. I tried using the dewalt polisher, but hand rubbing areas yielded the best results.

Passing it along for fun.

Never thought about using GoJo but it makes sense.

Did you use the "Original Formula" or the "Extra Crispy (aka pumice)" formula? The pumice will break down into some pretty fine particles.

Yesterday was fun compounding and I made some pretty good progress. A bit sore today.

As for Gojo, that turned out to be an interesting option for stubborn areas. I used it on the door and it cut the first layer down pretty easily. The only downfall is that it dries easier so you end up using more. No biggie.

I'll post some pictures of the door. It's nicely cleaned up now, still need to cyclo it still, but I need to pick up some cotton fabric first.

Here are some pictures of the door shot this morning. Overcast day here in New England, but the closeup picture you can see the oxidation line. The door was 2-3 times more oxidized than the rest of the body. The top and bottom were first cut with Gojo, followed by diamond brite with the dewalt polisher. Trying to get it in reasonable shape for the TAC birthday bash at Bakers.

Something else about gojo that is interesting, the trailer hadn't been polished in tens of years so pollen, dirt and so on have caked into areas. Gojo did a nice job of loosening this stuff up with a soft cloth. A couple times I barked that I was getting this stiff mud in the seams, but it was this other stuff that was catching the polish, and oxidation mud and holding onto it. first pass with Gojo helped reduce the crap, plus it smells good
