Dazzling!

I finally got my trailer back from "The Polishing Guru" in Riverside. It's beau-ti-us!
I can't go near it without someone stopping and commenting about it.
Compare it to my avatar. Before and after.

Very nice looking.

I hope my 72 turns out close to this. I am doing mine myself have about 16 hours into it so far and not even close.

Blinded by the light....

Blinded by the light, revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night

Manfred Mann's Earth Band
- words and music by Bruce Springsteen

- Manfred Mann's Earth Band version (Warner 8252) was released August 1976
and reached #1 in early 1977. It was in the Billboard Top 40 for 15 weeks.
- lyrics as recorded by Manfred Mann's Earth Band on the 1976 album
"The Roaring Silence" (Warner 3055)

I was impressed by bright shiney things when I was 26, guess I still am.

Send that one to Airstream and their forum site. I bet you will be a future picture of the month or a future calendar page!

It was $150 a foot, which was well wirth the price. Watching those people work on this and the mess, not to mention the experience, equipment, and place to do the work gave me no second thoughts on sending it out to be done.

Thanks Diane...it does look GREAT!!!! I know all about the mess...my washer, shower, sinks, back door, etc. do too!!!

I don't think the monetary savings or time spent are worth it...next time, I'll pay to have it done.

Shari

Love that shine. Are you goung to clear coat it or keep it polished. Do you park it inside a shelter?

I'm going to try to keep it polished. I would be interested in the clearcoat mention on other threads, but the price is a bit steep right now.
I have to store it outside. Indoor storage around here would be like a second mortgage! Luckily, the weather isn't too harsh around here.

According to the guy that polished it, regular cleaning with a spray on detailing polish works pretty well. I have a case of that "waterless car wash" that has teflon added. I'm going to try that out and see if it works.

Outside of that, taking it back to the "guru" every 2-3 years for a touch up seems to be the plan. It won't take as long or be as expensive next time.

The "WOW factor" is really a trip. I had new tires put on yesterday, and it wasn't until I was ready to leave did the guys realize it wasn't a brand new trailer, but one almost 40 years old.

Hollywood, take that beauty to Hollywood and get it in a movie.
Since you are going to keep it polished doing it yourself you will win any arm wrestle contest anywhere. I just can't get over how gorgeous it is.

I am slowly moving along. Its starting to shine a bit.. I have close to 70 hours in it so far. I still have quite a few more hours to go. I am really enjoying this though. It is very relaxing after a hard day at work.
