Can you rent polishing equipment?

I live in new Hampshire and really dont want to purchase the polishing equipment if I dont have to I would rather spend that money on some other things in the trailer . Anyone know of places that rent that kind of equipment?

I'm in the central tx area, anyone wanna split the costs of the Dewalt and polisher?

i plan on starting my polishing project in the fall, and would be willing to sell the tools cheap to another 'streamer when i'm done.

if i cant find a polishing buddy or buddies, i'm headed to the cash america pawn shops, they have a fabulous 6 month, no questions asked return policy...if the tool breaks down.

Buy new or better yet used. When done you can probably sell for your cost.

You are never done polishing. As soon as you finish, the trailer will start to oxidize again. In a few years you will want to polish again.

shine life

There are a lot of differing opinions on how long a polishing job will last, perhaps because there are a lot of variables.

Some of the factors seem to include:

How smooth the aluminum is after the final polish
Whether the trailer is stored indoors or out in the weather
The proximity to coastal climate or local air quality
How often the trailer is washed and waxed

Clearcoating is a whole topic on its own. There are a few threads on polishing and clearcoating if you want to dig further. I decided to bite the bullet and polish this month, we'll see how it goes.
