barnished top on my 65 safari

hi there. we are the new owners of an awesome 65 safari. the man we bought it from had "barnished" the top and the bottom is the shiny metal. is there any way to get the top back to its original shine?

any other suggestions on getting a more original look? some have said paint the entire thing a silver shiny...leave it...or barnish the bottom too.

i REALLY want the entire thing shiny as can be again.

any suggestions would be great!

I think you mean burnished

tr.v. bur·nished, bur·nish·ing, bur·nish·es
1. To make smooth or glossy by or as if by rubbing; polish.
2. To rub with a tool that serves especially to smooth or polish.
n.
A smooth glossy finish or appearance; luster.

But we are going to need pictures or a better description if you want suggestions ...
