anyone polished a 91 AS?

I am planning on polishing my 91, I have read much info. on the subject. But I would like to hear from someone that has done a later AS. Like a 91/92 limited. I have heard stories about sanding
after stripping, then acid, then buffing because of the metal finish on those years, like the endcaps. Any solid info. would help. I will not pay someone $110 a linear foot to do this. I will do it myself if it is not going to open up a can of worms.
