Hi William,
I'm planning on doing nothing. The climate here is dry and very hot 4 months out of the year. Now if I lived hear the ocean that would be a different story, but I'm not too worried about the finish. I'll do a maintenance polish once a year to keep it up, but that's all I'm planning on doing.

Good link, and I like the idea of a mobile service.

The photo of the Airstream in the lower left on this guy's page belongs to Herb Spies down in FL. I'd check to see if this mobile guy really did these examples before giving him my business. I don't people swiping canned photos of what they "could" do, I want to see actual work.

Dag68,
I did find one. I called and spoke to someone who said they would be willing to do it - I just need to take it to them so they can give me an estimate.

It may have to wait however since we are planning on going camping in Virginia Beach for Thanksgiving weekend.

These businesses have been around for years but I haven't seen them mentioned here on the forums, at least not that I remember.

I recently took my Sovereign to one of these truck polishing shops and they polished my entire 31' Sovereign for $1500!!! They used red and white rouge sticks to achieve a mirror shine. My Sovereign still needs the final stage of polishing with a Cyclo and Nuvite-S to remove the polishing marks, but the cost is worth it because the first two cuts take the longest and they are the messiest.

Are these pics of the work as they completed it, or have you touched it up already? My 31 needs a polish, and I know where Eloy is...

What would be the closest truck polisher to Ventura, CA? I googled truck polishing and only come up with auto and truck wash and detail shops....

Thanks

The pics I posted were taken the day after bringing my Airstream home.

Try calling all of the truck wash establishments in your area. The place I took mine to is a Truck Wash. Just ask them if they polish aluminum (most do) and what their shop rate is. They'll probably want to see your Airstream before giving you an estimate.

Brad - GREAT question!! I'm interested to know exactly the same - was this trailer polished at this business?

Mike, Now that a few weeks have passed are you still happy with the polish job done on your Airstream? I am thinking of having mine done at a Danny's truck wash in Phoenix. They have done a few trucks for us and do good work. However I am still slightly leery. Adios, John

Hi John,
Absolutely! Yes! Like I said earlier, I still need to do the final pass with a cyclo to get the polishing marks out (you can only see them though when the sun hits them just right), but the money was well worth it. It saved me a lot of time and effort. If you have any doubts, you're welcome to stop by and take a look.

BTW, would love to see your '67 sometime. You should try and get out to the Picacho Peak New Year's Rally.

Just had my 1958 Overlander polished at M&Ms Truck Polishing. The results were just as impressive on my '58 as my '72. Here's a few pics.

The '72. She's pretty much done. I still need to work on the interior of the '58.
