Ok, what better way to spend a holiday weekend then polishing!
Finished the black/red pass total 26 hours, now yesterday did 1 side and whole front in 8 hours, so 8 more to finish.
50 hours isn't that bad for a 31', with this system I think.
This pass I'm using a 10" white cotton wheel 1" wide with white compound.
It is a mirror finish
except for corners and places where that size wheel just don't fit.
I used mineral spirits and tried acetone to clean the black off, didn't do that much.
Here's my current issue, I Turtle waxed the newly polished half just so it doesn't oxidize, that foam pad was black in 2 minutes.
Not sure I needed to wax it because the white compound I'm told has wax in it anyway??
After waxing it got a little dull, it appears the black was pulled to the surface and smeared the surface.
But from a few feet away it is gorgeous.
Any thoughts?
