Wood touch up pen

I have a 2018 Classic and have a few light scratches in the wood. The brochure states the color is cognac maple. I can find some touch up pens but their cognac maple doesn't appear to be my cognac maple. Any suggestions?

This kind of thing happens a lot. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to match silver miniblinds...

The "easiest" way to get it right is to tow the trailer to a hardware store and ask a sales associates advice. Obviously an Ace or other small independent/chain store would be best for this kind of actual human service. Or buy the lightest pen you can find, and go over the wood multiple times until it darkens enough.

I’m going through this right now too. I reach out to airstream directly when I was at JC last and asked if I could buy some stain. They didn’t have extra I could buy.

Since airstream uses different hard woods and stain from two different suppliers depending on supply, it’s unusually difficult to exact match.

Long story short, the best then you can do to get a completely exact color match is remove and panel, strip it down to bare wood, and bring that panel in with one that you want color matched. Should be perfect at that point.

Unfortunately close enough is what you will end up getting using any other Method. I recommend using the two panels under the closet. They pop off easy and are small enough working areas.

I went through the stain problem about a year ago. I was at JC and same story. They didn’t have the stain available so I spoke with Brad (service manager) who was kind enough to call the supplier directly. The supplier wasn’t willing to provide any touch up stain as they said it was a special mix and a seven step process so even if they provided stain it would match. So no luck there. A few months back LilPeanut posted some pictures of some cabinet work he had done in he coach with Cognac Maple. In the picture it looked like perfect match. I asked him what stain he used and he said cabinet maker mixed the stain and he would asked but I never heard back. If you find out please share. Sorry I could not be more help.

This may be another one of the times where I try to fix something and it may have been better left alone. They're not that noticeable to anyone except for me.

That’s what I decided to do. Wait until the wife asks me to do something about it then I’ll start the project. Will buy me a few more years I am sure.

TRY THESE from amazon link below
I use Walnut for my Mocha Cherry 33 Classic and it works fine. These markers are like stain in a Sharpie. I sometimes do it once, let dry and come back and quickly add a second layer. I say QUICKLY because the second layer will dissolve the first if you aren't careful and will become transparent again. That said, you may want to try two different colors to achieve the right color when done. Lighter color first, let dry and do again with the next darker color. My little blemishes have been real small (Fussy Me) so I cannot attest to how well they will cover a large or deep scratch. It just so happens that walnut alone works for me.
This kit from Amazon has crayons too so maybe a wax build up to lay a base might be helpful. Try them on an inconspicuous place first to see how they look.
While searching Amazon for these, look at similar products from other manufacturers. You may see something you like better.
Good luck with it.
