Windshield Mask

I have a 1988 Airstream 325 motorhome. It's in good shape and runs fine! I have looked, without success, for some ideas on how to restore the gray paint or decal around the windshield and front windows. The area is peeling and cracked. Has anyone restored this area on their classic? I've contacted a few shops that do "wraps" for cars and trucks, but no one seems to have a solution. I guess painting is an option, but the area seems to have been applied using a film or decal when first done by Airstream. I've attached some pictures.

Some of the folks in the Classic MH forum might have some ideas IMO:

See also the Stripping etc. sub-forum: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f441/

. . . with a long thread which may help: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f441...ome-81748.html

Bingo in Post #4?

Good luck,

Peter

PS -- edit -- This post from an older thread in that Classic MH forum has an interesting YT video link about stripping stuff from AS aluminum, not sure if it helps. Good luck.
