I keep zipties, volt/ohm meter, various crimp or solder electrical connectors. Solder iron/solder, set of screwdrivers, wire cutters, socket set-metric and sae. Still gotta get tube of Vulcum to put in there...

No welder, impact wrench, chain saw, lawn mower... but just about everything else

Fuses, duct tape, butane soldering torch, pex crimp rings and crimper, sharkbite unions,rivets and rivet gun, cleacos, drill and bits,vom, 3m electric tape, various wrenches and screw drivers and hammers, extra marker and tail light bulbs, lots of zip ties, a small level, extra parts for Equalizer hitch.

I have a seperate box of rivets..i should get some clecos to throw in there too...after Iget my plumbing finished Ill probably keep a few crimp rings in there also...OH, i do have fuses also...If i EVER find a snake, im selling the trailer!

I have a cup with various cheap screw drivers, pliers, vise grips, a file, tape measure and a little dosage syringe of Vulkem. Cheap because I either lose them or give them away to other campers. Its usually enough for our camping needs. Although one time the @$&@ Reese tongue lock broke and I couldn't unhitch. A friendly camper next door offered to get his .45 pistol to shoot it off. Hehe. Instead I pulled the receiver pin.

I love the idea of having cheap tools in a cup to lose or give to other campers - I do that with snow brushes in Ohio winters - when I see someone scraping ice and snow with a credit card, I stop and give them a scraper/brush!

IDEA: Pick up tools cheap at garage sales (sometimes almost free) to help campers in need.

The rear of this pickup IS the whole tool box...everything from a...reese straight hitch, spare tire, several cans of paint, large compressor, screen, hog hair paint brushes, screw drivers and three hundred feet of connectable airhose.

you guys with compressors.....electric or gasoline powered?

I've become a big proponent of pneumatic tools over electric tools down here. Air tools are cheap and do well in a caustic environment. I am surprised to see several people here say they carry compressors, though, since they are heavy, and WAY noisy.

Is there any reason to take metric tools along?
(I'm a tool freak. I am making up my kit as I go. So far, after one trip in the AS, I have a level, channel lock pliers, and a cheapo set of sockets, various screwdriver bits etc. from Home Depot, and duct tape. More to come.)

All of the above, plus torque wrenches and the best emergency roadside repair tool ever: annealed stainless steel aircaraft safety wire.

Air compressor: I always carry a little 12 volt one just for tire inflation and a "stop-n-go" tire plugger (save my bacon once!), sometimes a small Porter-Cable pancake style compressor if I actually expect that I'm gonna' need to use air tools (then I take along 2400 watt Yamaha generator) ... and just occasionally a smallish portable air tank. It's big enough to top off several tires or shoot a few rivets or run an impact wrench long enough to remove and replace the blades on my tractor's bush hog mower.

They are temporary holders that fit in the holes for rivets. They hole the pieces in place while you are installing rivets. See Spring Clecos.

Ever have a wheel bearing go out some dozens of miles down a dirt road? I have, despite what I thought was top-noch preventive maintenance (bad seal). No fun.
