What is the consensus on Keeping a Vintage '54 FC Original or Modernize?

I have been browsing the forums and I see a lot of teardowns and rebuilds.
I have a 54 FC in decent shape. Everything is original and still works. The toilet foot valve is gone, well it's still there but it won't close. Other than that all that that is needed is some TLC.

So what would be the thing to do? Clean her up and stay original or start to gut and replace?

Do what you want, but why would you want to gut and re-do a decent, original '54 FC? I gutted and re-did my '70's model, but it was trashed, and, well, '70's... I vote for keeping yours original!

A 54 Flying Cloud is a real classic. If everything is original and works, I would keep it that way. Find a gutted trailer or someone else's abandoned project and do your thing with that one.

Just my opinion...

I have to vote with the majority so far. Id keep it all original as possible ,originals are rare. Like someone said they should be lots of abandon projects out there that you can play with and only invest a small amount to bail someone out.
