water hookup confusion

With the confusion people were having with hooking the water supply hose to the black tank rinse, I thought I would make a different piece to screw into the water connection when the hose is not in use. Currently, both of the plugs are black, and I can see myself getting in a hurry and doing the same thing. The plug I made is aluminum, so at least it is a different color.

Material is 7075-t6 aluminum. Way overkill but what I had. Can always make more as programs are stored.

Hey - I'm totally in awe! You deserve huge kudos.

Do you have one that says "black flush"? Or even a blank? I'd rather put it there since that's used far less than the city water connection so hooking up at a site doesn't require the extra step but flushing the tank does.

Other than that - grand slam! 🙏

Good idea. "Black flush" is easy enough to do. Blank is easier. Just something different to avoid any mishaps.

Too many details to think about that can screw up your trailer. I've had some major blunders that I got lucky on and when I look back it all comes down to "haste makes waste". Don't rush yourself.

Being a little on the dense side, I need a very clear path of follow. See below.

I just breathe deeply and read the label that says Caution Sewer Flusher.

And that's what I try to do most of the time. But, that one time when I pull into a campsite at midnight, and am really tired from driving all day, maybe a different plug will keep me from making a mistake. Can't imagine cleaning that up.

Mike S., that is a really terrific idea! It certainly would have been nice if AS came with color significant entry plugs, to avoid mistakes. I will look for a different color plug for my new BAMBI for next season. You are so right...that mistake could be 'nasty'!

Custom machining is very cool. Nice job. I like that shinny stuff. Keep on cutting. Pat

I'd buy one of each if you offer them up for sale. I haven't made the mistake yet, but last trip out, we ran into a friend (doesn't own an airstream) who offered to help me set camp. He hooked the water up. Before he turned it on I shouted to let me turn the water on. Went to check, and he had water hooked up to grey water. Whew ... could have been bad!

new plugs

Had requests for doing a black flush plug. This is how they turned out. And how they look on my trailer. If interested in purchasing, send me a private message, and I will discuss details. Thanks in advance, Mike Sorry for the sideways pictures.

Question. Is there a loop or something to tie this to the AS. It looks super nice and might grow legs...
