Have bypass kit installed properly on heater, all valves turned way they should be to bypass or run strait, but when water is hot flush toilet get hot water into toilet, all lines are connected properly. Any one have this same problem. Ps I have installed a few bypass kits but this is a puzzler, also cold water lines to toilet are correct.

If you continue to flush, does the water stay hot? The reason I ask is because if the toilet pipes are near the water heater the water in the pipes near the heater will heat up, but after running cold water displaces the hot water and it returns to normal.

I have this situation with my lavatory water. The pipes under my lavatory are near the hot water heater and water in that area warms up. When I turn on the cold faucet, warm water will run for a few moments before cold begins to flow out.

I don't think that is the prob. as water gets very hot, some times have to run water for several min. maybe a little more, but I will check it out when we go in couple of weeks. Thanks for this matter Bill
