Angry Vogt Airstream in Ft. Worth, TX

Does anyone have any service experience with this dealer? I own a 2018 28' FC FB that I purchased new in 2018 here. The unit has been in 3 times for service. It takes on average 5 weeks to get an appointment to drop off for service, and the unit has been tied up for 5 weeks in 2019, 7 weeks in 2020, and 6 weeks so far in 2021. The don't return calls, are evasive about timelines, returned the unit full of trash and metal shavings, broken glass from the last repair, and I'm on my 6th call with them so far this year and still cannot get a straight answer out of them about an AC repair and mirror replacement. Any alternatives?

Drop them

If I were you , I would drop them . Instead find a good Mobil rv tech or call North Dallas RV and ask if they could handle your work.

North Dallas RV .... RIP
We would not have owned an Airstream for over 20 years if Pat, Randy and all the other people at NDRV had not existed!

They will all be deeply missed.

I use them. The only issue I had was the last time I had a leak test done they failed to wash it. They aren’t perfect, but they are local. Call Airstream and let them know what you are dealing with.

Hi

There are an unfortunately large number of AS dealers who fall down on some element of support. You need a good parts department, good service people, and proper management to make it all work. Short change *any* of those and the result is going to get ugly.

AS has near zero control over the dealers. This is not like being a Ford dealer. (though even there, the variance is pretty large). Sales is what keeps you on the list of dealers. Indeed, there once were a lot more dealers. If the current boost in sales continues, we may see a few more pop up ....

DFW Airstream - Not great service

DFW Airstream, They talk a good game, but don’t carry through.

North Dallas RV, not well run by appearances, long wait, but they did a good job on body repairs.

Bayer RV in Dublin Texas is an Airstream dealer. I had an axle replaced with good results and fair pricing. The owner is not easy to talk with and no commitment on timing.

If I had to choose again, North Dallas RV. Smart, good work, with delays.

Unless it’s warranty work, find a good RV shop. I’ve never dealt with a dealer except to buy parts for my own use.....,,oops, I did have a dealer install a street side awning.

Sorry to hear about your experience. We also bought a 2018 Globetrotter new from Vogt. Your experience is very similar to what we went through with the service department. Empty promises, half-assed repairs, months long delays at each of our 3 warranty service appointments. Communication was horrible. Not what should be expected at a 5 Rivet dealer..

We purchased our Classic 33 at Airstream DFW. Have been in for a number of warrant issues over the past two years. No complaints other than they don’t clean up afterwards. It’s never bothered me too much because I tape painters plastic throughout whenever the trailer goes to the dealer (an old trick from having a DP and going to freightliner).

I’ve never had to wait for extended periods for work but it has been warranty only.

Airstream of DFW-Vogt

I've never dealt with Vogt shop across the highway; all of my repair dealings have been with the Airstream side of the business. I have only the highest regard for Airstream of DFW. None of the things you mentioned have ever happened with my 2014 Airstream Interstate Extended Lounge. In fact, the service people have gone out of their way to find me parts. No complaints.

I took my 2020 25RB in yesterday. They replaced the converter while I was there, but I had to leave it with them to fix the wall that is separating at the bathroom door area.

They told me their goal now is to fix all warranty items immediately upon the customer arriving with their trailer. In my case this would have been accomplished if I hadn't had the wall separation issue.

They are really making an effort to do something I've wanted over the past year. I thing this is a great thing. They appear to really be trying to make things better for their customer.

We bought two AS from Vogt Airstream DFW and had no problems with their service department on both. Jennifer used to be the service manager (not sure if she still is) but we were able to make an appt for a yearly warranty checklist with no issues. Fast appt time and turnaround. The work was good and the staff was very professional. They didn’t wash the AS but we didn’t ask either but there was no mess from the work. Sorry to hear you’re having issues.

Nice folks, but not entirely reliable

Paid DFW AS to do a multi-point check on a 27FB we bought from a third party. They said the electrical systems were all good, but we found 2 dead batteries when we picked up the trailer. Luckily they were still in warranty but should have been caught as part of the $315 systems check.

Yes, I have. In 2015 I asked the service dept. if I should drive to JC for service and he said yes.
That was fine for the warranty but, they caused a roof water leak in 2020 and 4 trips later, I think it is fixed.
Jackson Center may be the best, but they mostly just replace parts.
The best is to work on it yourself, cause it will continue to break, if you use it.
I here Albuquerque is a good place and they helped me once.
That is a 7 year story.
