Vista View Window Rivet

I was doing my semi-annual Corrosion-X application on all edges and rivets and discovered one of the vista window rivets coming out. I assume it has backed out because I didn't see it last time. It is on top of the vista window by the door and is almost covered up by the awning. The most obvious and easiest solution would be to leave it as is and just seal it. The rivet is not loose, but it's obviously not holding anything. It's has backed out about 1/8". If it wasn't under the awning, I would simply drill it out and replace with an Olympic rivet. I have the tool to finish off the top of the rivet, so it would look like nothing had happened. If I take off the interior trim on the window, would I gain access to the back of the rivet?

Has anyone had the interior trim off a vista view window? I'm assuming that's what you call the skinny oval window above the main windows.

Not sure on a 2016, model but on earlier trailers the bucktails can be seen by removing the interior trim. If the rivet has not been bucked then a bucking bar can be held on the manufactured head and the bucktail formed using a hammer and punch on the inside (if accessible).

Thanks for the reply. I will take the inner trim off and report what I find.

I removed the trim and the backside of all rivets is exposed. The rivet goes through the outer skin and a 1" angle. It appears that it was never bucked. The end is not smooth like all the others. I will get my wife to hold a 2 1/2# hammer against the head of the rivet while I work it from the inside. I will put some Vulkum 221 around the rivet beforehand.
Thanks for the help.

I should've said Sikaflex 221. And, yes, I will post pictures.

Rivet is fixed. Only problem I had was that I either needed a heavier hammer to buck with or a heavier/stronger wife! I put Vulkum under the rivet before bucking.

Where you able to push the rivet all the way in before you re- bucked it?

Yes. Since my bucking hammer and my wife were not heavy enough, I had to tap the rivet back in a little after each strike from the inside. It finally expanded enough that it wouldn't move.
