I also changed out the gasket as it was quite damaged. I got Airstream to send me 10’ since my dealer was suppose to replace this under warranty but for some reason opted not to.
To remove the gasket there are two clips that hold the gasket in at the top of the door opening each held in by 2 sheet metal screws.
Remove these clips and the gasket will pull out. The gasket has a metal core covered by rubber.
To install the new gasket, it has to cover both the flange on the door opening and the inner skin. In my case, it looked like the miner skin was cut out using tin snips by a ten-year old! There was considerable overhang from the inner-skin.
This prevents the gasket from seating properly, but more importantly, it can damage the gasket. Used a metal cutting blade on the Dremel to trim these flush and then removed any burrs with a metal file.
Lots of work, but the end product looks good!
