U Shaped Dinette table w/cabinet slide wobble fix

I wasn't a fan of the way Airstream mounted the table to the pedestal using cabinet slides. It wasn't solid...it always wobbled. Especially if you slide it out, at that point its supported by only the slides and feels like its going to break off.
My fix... I removed the cabinet slides and mounted the table directly to the pedestal using spacers. I mounted the table offset, in the the same position as if it were locked in place. Now, you can just rotate the table 180 and it will be in the exact position it would have been on slides. Only now, it's a rock solid table, no more wobble.
• the spacers give you the same clearance for you legs. Make sure your spacers aren't any thicker than the original cabinet slides. If they are too thick, your table may not lower to the converted position.

The post is worthless without pictures. Show us what you did - I'm not good at imagining the results.

Okay, perfect, I was thinking that this was the way to go. I do need to lower the table for a bed in the even the grandkids are with us. However, most of the time it will be in the raised position.
Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the replies, I was going to get "carried away" and make a whole new table with a narrower top and two drop leafs so that when the table was in the up position, a person or child could still sit at the back. However, its not worth the hassle and I will just remove those sliders and mount it permanently with spacers.
I appreciate the help and advice.
Regards,
Keith S.
