Trim band coming off...

My lower trim bands were hanging down on both sides of my AS this morning, so I pulled them all off. I know some of you may have had similar issue. I am going to JC in October, but curious on a fix if we want to reinstall before then? What did you use, (3m 2 sided tape? if so, which one?) If you did go thru this, what did you use to clean up and which tape/ and size of tape did you use? (sorry- just noticed picture came in sideways...; but thats an easy fix...just tilt your head! LoL) Thanks for comments in advance...we are on the road to WY out of Lubbock this morning...

Mine were faded out, but still holding tight. I have 1/2" trim and 1" trim. I pulled it all off, cleaned all the old stuff and installed new. The new has double sided tape install on the trim. Found the trim I needed here:

Our trim was still like new, and only part of it was coming off so I used gasket adhesive. One of the factory techs suggested it.

I have a spool of the stuff left over from when I replaced the whole belt line on our trailer.

If you’d like some short sections of it then pm me and we can work something out.

An "anvil" pruned works great.

Gorilla brand double sided tape available in the paint department of most big box stores. Comes in the correct width and works great. --Frank

I used 3M black Super Weatherstrip and gasket adhesive. Comes in a tube.

Trim replacement is a recurring topic and the forums' search function will reveal a variety of insights. If your "chrome" is cloudy or damaged then replacement is warranted versus just re-adhering it.

The original product is 1" wide Cowles' Proteckto trim with Chrome finish and comes with the adhesive mounting tape attached. The product number 37-315 is a hundred foot Chrome roll (great for longer trailers), 37-314 is the fifty foot chrome roll and enough for Bambi's or just a section. If you have a hankering for a different color be advised there is quite a selection from black to blue to red, etc.

I had the same issue.

I used 3M VHB to reattach our trim, with good results. Make sure to remove the old tape with a putty knife first.

VHB is meant to be permanent.

Description:
3M VHB 4910 Heavy Duty Mounting Tape - 0.75 in. x 15 ft. Transparent Double Sided Tape Roll. Tapes and Adhesives

I removed all our old rub-rail and belt line, cleaned well with alcohol, and replaced with new. I bought both from Out-of Doors-Mart, and you must roll them firmly to get a good adhesion. Worked great and looks great!

The absolute best way to get a clean cut is to use a pex pipe cutter.

I replaced all mine this year. It had become a cloudy white color and was just ugly. I tried a few different methods to cut and found a good pair of tin snips worked the best for me. Utility knife was hard to get a straight cut and any type of saw did not cut very clean.

2017 AI came lose just below the fuel door, looks like the diesel got to it. Clean it good with alcohol, and use gorilla original glue, and hold it in place with masking tape till set, diesel will not effect Gorilla original glue once set.

Easy fix

We used E6000, my all time fav adhesive and put a piece of tape over it til dry. Didn’t leave tape on long enough to leave adhesive behind. Just repaired about 3-5” where falling.
Ours too is cloudy and I’d love a custom color trim….short of painting it and ideas?

I've used 3M VHB 5952 1"×7" very successful to bond my brackets that hold my Renogy 100 watt solar panels on. I check them regularly, but they have been secured since 2017 and about 25k miles of traveling. My brackets were 1"×6" is why I got that size and cut off the extra inch. Got from Amazon, I think. Let us know what and how you solve this issue, I'm thinking about replacing mine. Good luck.

When the trim started coming off of our 2014, I replaced it with black. It looks great, kind of "dressy." We bought it from a lcal dealer for these products: http://www.trim-gard.com/bodysidemoldings.html . Good selection of other colors, too.
