Hello everyone. Thought I would give anyone interested a final update on my tranny issue. Had the fluid and filter changed in Washington. Tranny started working enough again to get us rolling down the road. Had a TPS shipped to a NAPA along our route and I bought a 12” drill bit and after 1-1/2 hours managed to get the rivets drilled out and the new TPS installed. Made the tranny shift erratically. At prodding from my wife, stopped at a NAPA in a small town of 1048 people in Wyoming and finally found someone who would actually listen to what I was saying about a Workhorse chassis. She had a TPS on a shelf that stated on the box it was specific to Workhorse Chassis! Wow. In a tiny little town! Anyways, installed the new TPS and the tranny shifted better but still would not go into OD. We are now home. Went to my local Workhorse mechanic yesterday and he told me I needed a new tranny but he has decided to stop working on RV’s due to his age and lack of space. Went to 3 different RV repair places yesterday. All 3 say I need a new/rebuilt tranny. The 3rd one was the only place willing to replace it. Estimate came back at $6,500. It appears I have no other options at this time and will most likely be paying them to keep me mobile.
Just wanted to let those that care know how my story is ending and thank everyone very much for taking the time to respond to my post for help with all of your suggestions. gsg
