To restore or not

Hi everyone, I found an old Airstream down from my property. Is been sitting in the open woods for 15 years or so. It belonged to a guy that passed away, now his wife had the property for sale. I’m thinking about trying to get it for a restoration project. I have no idea what it’s worth. From my serial number research I think it’s either a 1968 or 1975. I took some pictures and looked in the window as. It’s a 26 ft Overlander International. I was thinking of offering her $1000 for it. Maybe less. Any ideas what it could be worth?

See if she will donate it to a new home.Go up from there.
It won't be worth more anywhere than it will sell for in CA.
If you put pics up here, one of these experts will ID it for you.
Don't ever reach into a place you can't see , you might pull Your hand out with a rattlesnake or worse attached.Thats a mouse hotel, snakes love mice.
Your fun starts when you drop that belly pan....

Good idea. Maybe she just wants it moved. No money involved.

Overlander's were 27 feet long in the 70s (and 69) and 26 feet long in the 60s. You might want to see if there is a title somewhere for the trailer before you make a deal.

A lot of times, those go something like this..
"Gramps would want someone who really likes it, to have it"...

Whatever the purchase price ends up being, it will be one of the least expensive line items in a resto.

Judging by the vin# I believe it is a 1968. I have a 40 foot Monaco that keeps me busy. I’m just not sure if I want to get involved with this big of a restore. If I end up with it I might just clean it up and flip it. My father had a 1966 Trade Wind and it was very cool,

Serial Number

Can someone break down this serial number for me. I tried and got conflicting info. I think this Overlander is a 26 foot 1968 made in CA and had twin beds. I’m not sure what the J89 and FG means. Correct me if I am wrong, Thank you for the help,

International options on a 26 foot 68 trailer with double bed
