stickers on the cover for the stove

Can anyone tell me what to use, now that I have the stickers off, on the
gluey residue? I'm loathe to use Varsol, but is that the correct method on aluminium?

You can use denatured alcohol, mineral spirits, or Goo Gone.

I have used peanut butter or WD-40 depending on the application. There are goo gone type products in the market as well.

Rubbing Alcohol

Thanks for the tips. I tried the WD 40 and it was not working too well,
so I switched to rubbing alcohol and that did the trick. (with a little elbow grease)
My cook top now sparkles.:

GooGone. That stuff works for just about everything but martinis!
