SQUEAKY FLOOR- Alongside Front Bed

Ah... the Squeaky floor along the outside edge of our 2019 27 Foot Front Bed.

I emphasize Front Bed in the case this is unique... but maybe not.

Reading a thread about SQUEAKS and I having nothing to do for the rest of the day... went to investigate OUR Squeak.

If you walked on the left side of the Front Bed... it squeaked. It actually squeaked when we purchased the trailer. It only squeaks when we... walk on it. Other new trailers on the lot also had similar squeaks.

Now you understand our SQUEAK. Alongside our bed.

- How to FIX the problem... as of right now, as I found the reason and will be putting everything back.

There is a piece of trim that covers the rough cutting the linoleum floor and it rests against the aluminum interior skin. Maybe ten short wood screws. I removed the screws and pulled this trim back to get a look.

Immediately... NO SQUEAK. It was the plastic trim piece on the floor edge that was causing the squeak. The plastic trim also has an adhesive tape to secure it to the Floor. Be careful when pulling away from the floor as it can come loose, but make no difference.

I am going back now and screwing this trim piece back onto the floor, but after I lay it back down, secure and TEST.

If anyone has the squeaking on the outside wall and floor... please post. I will describe what I did and how. Otherwise:

If no one has this constant squeak when walking on this area... it will not matter and put I will put this Thread to rest.

No Squeaking Floor

The aluminum interior at the floor is not secured well, along the floor and wall contact. The aluminum has some loose areas that are not secured. I noticed one pop rivet. I could move the aluminum at the base of the wall, as there is some slop in its fit.

This is the squeak. The Aluminum edge at the floor.

From what I found is the floor may have some play, but it is the wall and the trim covering the linoleum (whatever it is called today) and the aluminum wall that create the squeaky floor.

I took a roll of 3/4" wide Black Electrical Tape and secured it against the aluminum on the wall and creased it so the other half was secured to the floor. Then reinstalled approximately less than four feet of plastic trim to cover the floor linoleum and the loose aluminum.

It no longer squeaks. It was loud. But... now if I need to tweak the trim on the floor... I know where it is at.

No Dexter Axle replacement. No floor being secured to the frame. Nothing. Sure, there must be some play around the corner on the floor... but it no longer squeaks.

Call me... No Squeak after Today.

Had a squeak in our bedroom walking around the bed. Same thing you found, the Jackson Center tech said it was the vinyl strip laid in-between the side wall and the floor to cover the gap. He sprayed some silicon behind it. No more squeak.
