Source for replacement hood vent arms?

The arms that secure the exterior flap for the Baraldi range hood vent have had a habit of coming loose. Now I've lost one. Googling has not helped me find a replacement. Anyone know of a source?

I used these 5/16 window screen clip with a small bolt to fix mine. If too long.. I trimed mine to fit. Works great.

Not sure if you have the stainless steel exterior vent hood or not, but if you don't I'd go to the airstream store (airstream supply company) and just buy the stainless vent and you'll have far fewer worries compared to the plastic one Airstream had been installing. Those plastic tabs are a joke and not even sure they are replaceable (unless you go the MacGvyer route).

Try a Google search for window screen clips. You should find both plastic and aluminum tab clips that are secured by a screw. Not an exact replacement, but close.

Also, Out of Doors Mart used to have a mirror clip that is very similar. You can find these at almost any hardware store.

I got the 5/16 screen clips from Home Depot. They are much heavier duty than the original vent lock clips. Pretty good fix. If you own a Airstream, or any other travel trailer, you have to be part McGyver. Always having to re-engineering something that Airstream could have designed better.

Several years ago I found a phone number for the vent manufacturer (Ventline I believe) and called them up. They mailed me a handful for free.

The replacements have now also failed. I scrounged some small parts from my junk drawer and installed them with little machine screws. I did the install with the vent still on the trailer, which made it quite difficult; conscript a child for this task if you can.

Ace hardware, screen repair section. Come 4 to a pack, make a friend at your next rally. They are excellent replacements for the lousy finger shredders that come on the stainless ones as well.Click image for larger version
