Service Manual ....

I have a (new to me) 69 Overlander. It needs some work, plumbing, air conditioner, a good cleaning. I would like to have a service manual for it, but I realize that service manuals were first printed in 72. Would a service manual for the 72 be applicable for the 69 model? Were there enough significant changes from 69-72 to make the 72 service manual useless to me? I have the original owner's manual. This is my first airstream!

Good question. I would have enjoyed having a service manual for my '67 Overlander, but, like you, found one is not published.

On the other hand, I have completed some fairly significant tasks on my Airstream without a service manual. And, I doubt the information that would have really been useful would have been included. For example, my bathroom decking had rotted to wet sawdust. A dimensioned sketch of the curves, and plumbing access holes would have helped the restoration effort. But I doubt that would be covered in the service manual.
