Service Center Recommendations

Hi all, I'm a pretty new AS owner and coming up on 10K miles which seems like the time to have my running gear serviced. I don't feel comfortable doing things like repacking the bearings myself (maybe someday) so I'm looking for service center recommendations in the southeastern states for routine maintenance. My wife and I are full-timing and we drive all over but I estimate that'll be the area we are in when we get to the 10K mark. I found a few suggestions searching the forum but they seemed a bit dated, any and all help appreciated.

I have all of the maintenance that I can't do on my own performed at Foley RV Center in Gulfport, Mississippi— even though there's a closer Airstream dealer in Baton Rouge these days. Foley does good work, and they stand behind their work.
I thought getting old would take longer!

Out of Doors Mart at Colfax NC (near Greensboro) is a good place for service and is a long-time Airstream dealer.

If you can time it right, before you head south, Classic RV just south of Poughkeepsie NY is a good shop. George Hernandez was head mechanic at the CT AS dealer before they closed a few years ago.

George has serviced our bearings and brakes for two years since we got the new FC20.

The shop is just south of I-84, and it is easy to head south from there, via I-84, NYS Thruway, Garden State Parkway, etc.. We avoid I-95 and go a little west to I-81 down the Shenandoah Valley. A perfect time of year to make this trip I feel you are still near home!

Good luck.

Classic RV Shop is at 73 Route 9, Suite 10, in Fishkill, NY. 12524. Phone 1-845 319 6007. I have known George for 14 years. He is very good mechanic, and just about the only one who has work on our AS. He can do it all.

Nothing special about Airstream axles, bearings and brakes. They are off the shelf units that can be serviced at any competent brake or tire shop. I take my trailer to a local shop “Southern Tire Mart” that specializes in big rigs. Many of the RV dealers around here take their trailers to them for axle and tire work. They are located just off Highway 10 at the Woolmarket exit Biloxi, MS.

Do you know what a learning experience is? A learning experience is one of those things that says "You know that thing that you just did? Don't do that."
