Sealing hole in floor in 26u
I was cleaning out the compartment where the inverter, subwoofer and other miscellaneous items are located under the dinette. I noticed that I can see the ground when looking through the hole in the floor where several wires go underneath the trailer. What can I use to seal the hole that will be easy to get out if I ever need to run a wire through the hole. I first thought of silicone or spray foam insulation but those are both tough to deal with if you need to run something else through the hole. It doesn't look like any attempt was made to seal the hole by AS.

As new as your Airstream is, I wonder if you shouldn't be taking it in for a warranty claim to get the hole repaired?

I agree, take it back to the dealer. If you can see the ground, the mice can see in.

Just seal hole with great stuff foam. That's all the dealer is going to do. Save yourself the hassle of trying to get it into a dealership.

I use silver metal HVAC tape to close off holes as I find them.

Butyl tape works well. You can fill the hole and it will stay pliable.

Great Foam with  pest control. It's amazing all the holes in an airstream that critter can get through.

Same hole on my 26U. No big deal! I just stuffed some stainless steel wool [scouring pad] around the wires to fill the gaps.

I went the easy route and used spray foam. I just hope I don't need to dig it out in the future. I know that mice like to eat the foam so I put a bait station in the compartment and will check it from time to time.

For those using steel wool, remember steel is a great conductor of electricity, and y'all are packing it around electrical wires. Just sayin'...

I'm a newbe to travel to tin can living. I have a 2016 FC 26u and your post got my attention. I thought the inverter was part of the electrical panel on the floor opposite the bath room. My dinette area has no openings where I could look into. I'm confused.

The converter is the bottom part of your power panel. There located various place depending on model and layout.

If you take the cushions off the dinette, there are 3 areas: on the street side is the inverter, subwoofer, and miscellaneous gizmos. On the curb side is a large empty compartment. In the center, is a small compartment with a hinged lid.

Lift up the dinette cushion on the road side, then lift up the cubby hole cover and you'll be able to see the road below.
