Sea air and its impacts ?

Any owners out there who have kept their Airstream close to the ocean for an extended period of time? How much more maintenance was required? What were your major considerations? I'm considering bringing my 2011 Flying Cloud 25 to my land in Hawaii, 700ft elevation, 3 miles from the ocean. Any thought much appreciated.

Mine spent 3 months at Flamingo in Everglades National Park about 200 yards from Florida Bay.

Despite liberally spraying Aviation Corrosion X on all the exposed steel, rust started to form wherever the paint was compromised (nicks, scratches, wear points). Not serious but annoying — some wire brushing and touch up paint took care of it.

Same with my truck.

Mind you, this is sheltered shallow salt water so this is wind born salt...

It very much depends on geography and weather. Here in Slidell, I'm 10 feet above sea level and 2 miles from the salt marsh. But the barrier islands and the marshes and swamps eliminates most or alll airborne salt. Still have significant corrosion issues due to constant humidity but not salt so much. I do the same with CorrosionX but I don't get corrosion nearly as fast as n2916s describes. I would try to research salt in air concentration. At 700 feet and if the shore is not rocky I'd bet it is low to none, just a guess.
