I'm planning a DIY mud flap installation. I see several people have created a bracket that in turn has been screwed or riveted to the existing aluminum strip at the back of the wheel well.
But - I could make the installation a lot more sturdy if I put a few screws through the flap into the back of the wheel well as well.
What's behind it? We have a 'twin' model so our beds are near the wheels but there's about a 6" space between the foot of the bed and the nearest interior wall.
Good job!
From a past thread, the guy presumably used a bracket because his flaps extended outside the wheel well a bit.
So the flaps mounted on an arm and the arm mounted as yours.
I think it's wise to use mud flaps to protect the tank drain controls, as in your photo!
