RV SnapPad now has pads for Airstream!

Another great product ALERT! SnapPad has just finished designing their rubber snap on pads for the 5” BAL stabilizer jacks found on the newer Airstreams! These molded rubber feet provide a larger footprint and solid base that are permanently attached to your Stabilizer feet. No more crawling around on the ground trying to a block of dirty wood or leveling block under your stabilizers. We are fortunate enough to be a beta tester for this product. They have been making these for larger Class A RVs for years so I have no reservations about the company or build quality. I highly recommend them. I’m not sure when they will have full stock but I’m sure you can preorder them so you have them ASAP. P.S. they also have these pads for the 6” Round BAL stabilizers for the older Airstreams!

They're rubber. Do they compress? If they do, wouldn't that would defeat the stabilization. If they don't, great.

I have been in conversations with this company for a while and even sent them in the measurements so they could get it right. I was on the list to order them when they first make them but this virus has delayed it. Do you have yours now or are you on the list to get them?

They do not compress.

Do they stay attached to the OEM metal foot pads with a secure method? Any details on this?

The warranty page does not mention covering the possibility that the pads may fall off due to road vibration and so forth. How secure is the attachment to the AS OEM pads, and is there any mechanical connection, or maybe just a slot in the rubber pad to accept the metal edge of the existing foot pad?

They are press fit in place with quite a bit of force to “Snap” them on. You have to use soap to help them there is almost 1/2” of lip overhang on all 4 sides. These thing will not fall off.
I’d bet you a 6 pack of beer you could not get one off with your bare hands.

Can someone explain the point of these? With that hole in the middle, the load spread appears smaller not bigger.

Foot print is bigger not smaller. The hole in the middle is to allow for drainage and reduce weight.
The point? They don’t leave rust spots on concrete, they don’t slip around like plastic block do, they don’t have to be stored, they don’t have to be placed under the stabilizers everytime, you can’t forget them at your camp site?

we will stick with the hard yellow pads. i see new reason to get soft(er) rubber pads

the yellow plastic ones provide a wider base to distribute the weight. never had an issue
plus they are VERY easy to stack and clean

It is much easier, cheaper, and dependable to carry scraps of wood which serve multiple redundant purposes IMO.

Plus . . . to install these new-fangled pads, does not one have to "crawl around on the ground" and get it just right to make sure that the pads don't fall off?

I know how you are about always going through and referencing previously posted info. We a little digging I found this on the SnapPad website.

“SnapPad Xtra's have been tested to withstand well over 10,000 lbs per pad. SnapPad Prime's have been tested to withstand over 20,000 lbs per pad. We also lab tested SnapPads in extreme temperature conditions (+120°F to -40°F) and found that SnapPads remain attached at over 50 G’s of force. Even under extreme conditions SnapPads will stay on your rig no matter what you put them through.“

I like simple, easy and forget about, and these seem to fit all three of my criteria’s. It’s like having a built in surge protector instead of a portable one. Less things to carry and store, no more crawling under placing wood, pads, getting dirty, leaving things behind, Just drop and your done, raise and go. I like the idea of these, thanks for sharing. It now just depends how much these things sell for hmmmm???

Most are just making fun of a product that I seem to like! I've never used pads or wood or even yellow blocks (I hate yellow blocks. They keep breaking apart when you use them for leveling).

I might try these when they come out.

Thanks Ronnie, I’ll keep an eye out for these once they are commercialized. For me, it’s four fewer things to lose, forget and/or repeatedly bend over for. And please keep posting your product finds and ideas, as well as Airstream repairs/fixes, as I believe there are many here who find them valuable. Joe
