Rooftop Dometic crazy

Was working fine when we towed her home a year ago. Tried testing the roof top a/c heat pump today and it shakes the roof and and makes a very loud vibrational racket as if it was missing a cylinder. Any ideas?

Can you safely go up and take the cover off to look inside? Sometimes mud daubers like to nest in there. Could be a nest on a fan blade sending it way way out of balance. Worth a look.

Had a similar issue and found a huge tree frog bouncing around off the fan. What a mess.

YEP...Them daubers love the "mouse wheel".

I soak the nest so I don't damage the blades.
After the first time it happened I had some straightening to do.🥴

POI...they also like the exhaust tube of the furnace 🦟

I'm going with the mud wasp. Climb up there, stay on the seams (follow the rivet lines), don't crawl on the endcaps, and remove the a/c shroud. Locate the squirrel cage fan. Look real close because some times they are hard to find. Probably attached to the inside of the fan wheel some where.

The one time I had this issue I removed the mud nest with a thin screwdriver.

With that being said, it could be something else, but in my experience the old mud wasp would be the first thing to check for.

Thanks all. I’m hoping it’s that simple. Will check when I can get up top.

I'm going out on a pretty fat limb...and saying that's your problem.

Also, you can take off the shroud without getting on the roof. Just do each side at a time, leaning a ladder against the trailer with a towel or blank or foam pull noodles or whatever, protecting the trailer.
