Rock guard opinion

The original corrugated green rock gaurd on my 65 overlander is very faded. I think I can buy new at home improvement store, but what color? I really dig the original green, but also like clear & smoke color! What do you think?

I like to see straight through the trailer to the back window when pulling. I don't have a rock guard on mine, but I bet you can't see through that green one. I bet the smoke one you could and it would also serve as a sun block. I think it would look pretty good too, so that takes my vote.

I tried to find an equivalent at a home improvement store but the rib height wasn't the same and interfered with the hold open rods. I could never find exact replacement. Went with tinted 1/4 inch plexiglass. Looks good just heavy.

Thanks Cobia65, I had not measured the rib height!

Plexiglass cracks and crazes usually in 30 to 60 days when exposed to the sun.

I would use Lexan. Far superior to plexiglass.
