Rivet for slideout

I have a Safari with a slideout that has some rivets that need replacing. They go through the stainless band that surrounds the slide opening. The rivet that one uses for the skin is too short. Airstream gave me a part number 325121-03, but they have not had it in stock since 2010. Does anyone know where I fan find the proper rivets?

Ask Airstream for the part specifications (length, diameter, etc.) and post them. Once the details are known it much easier to search suppliers for a match.

Post or message result. I've touched, modified, repaired, serviced, upgraded, or maintained almost every item on my S/O but haven't had to deal with the longer rivets yet.

First, I am surprised to see that your Airstream is a 2004. I had thought that 2005 was their first year for the 28, which I have. This is the only mechanical problem that I have had with my unit!

Rivets...the parts person at Airstream said that the rivets have been out of stock since 2010, but found some with one of the Techs in the service area and is sending a few of them to me. I hope that see this as a need to restock them for future needs.

My experiences with the factory is and has been nothing but good.

They Hold Up Well

Actually, my 28 is titled as a 2003 and has a build date of Jan 2003. There is no 2003 SO choice on the site so I picked the 2004 SO choice. Was 2005 the last year for the 28 before building the longer ones exclusively? I know we aren't many.

My parts list has the shorter stainless rivets listed, 325101, and their location used elsewhere in the skin but not the longer 325121 used around the SO opening.

I have had no structural issues at all except the dreaded corrosion around just a few limited rivets and exterior joints. On the other hand, the tank monitoring system has never worked correctly and is permanently on holiday these days.

Twice a year I spend considerable time servicing, cleaning, and testing every system throughout. Tended, everything but the refrigerator has held up (besides the tank monitoring system). It was a recall unit and had developed a leak.

I have upgraded all the roof openings to the newer design fans with big blades and variable, reversible speeds. I installed the new Dometic 7 cf refrigerator last year which my wife really appreciates. Three years ago I switched out all exterior and interior 12v light bulbs to LEDs and enjoy the extended battery life when boondocking.

A 2003...wow! When we first saw a slideout, it was at the Tampa RV Show in January of 2005 and ours was delivered in May of 2005. We assumed that it was their first showing according to another person that was looking at it.

I too have replaced all fans with Fantastic fans...not cheap, but worthwhile. We have removed the sofa and replaced it with two Lazy Boy recliners...the sofa was awful. We have been to Alumapalooza a few times and have had service done at Jackson Center.

I have two current issues...a minor leak in back window which is an easy fix, and our refrigerator works fine, but while moving it gets warmer than we want. We leave the gas on while moving. We had it serviced recently, but it still does not keep cold enough.

where can I buy them?

I see all the info! I am sort of low tech...where can I buy them? It looks like they are a little wider and take a larger drill bit to remove the old ones.
