Replacement step for Sport 16

The steel step on our Sport 16 is rusted and needs replacing. New models have an aluminum step (made by Thule but you can't buy it from them!). Airstream says the new is not compatible with old mount. Anyone have experience with this? Elkhart 2 step looks reasonable but details are not that good.

Ditto: mine is a 2012 25FB and my old steel steps are rusty and were "straightened" with a 5 lb sledge hammer after a close encounter with a decorative rock at the edge of a gas station driveway. These steps look compatible and 2 of the reviews were about successful replacements of single steps on older Airstreams.

We have the same problem...Looking to buy that Thule Step (looks awsome) can't seem to find out where or how to get one. Even our Airstream repair shop does not know how to get them. They said if we can buy the setp and bring it in, they can install it.
