The product is Cowles' Proteckto trim # 37-715 and it is available from a slew of providers. An automotive outlet will usually be the best source price-wise, the RV outlets really bump their margins. I suggest a web search to locate the best current offering. TrimBrite might also make a comparable size.

Airstream Molding

Just replaced the chrome belt-line and fender-level molding on my 2015 Classic. Original molding was flaking off due to original owner's sun exposure. Replacing was a really easy job and now looks terrific! Just remove old molding, clean aluminum track and install new chrome molding. Before new install, clean the aluminum track with water dampened rags and then use 90% rubbing alcohol (no residue) to clean possible oils or adhesive compound. New molding is American made product by 3M that measures 5/8" for beltline and 1" for fender level. I have 33' and 96' respectively of the 5/8" and 1" chrome molding. Happy to part with what I have remaining.

Hi Brown Trout, (If you still have molding) care to sell me your excess 1" vinyl chrome molding insert? My 2009 flying cloud 23 has a large continuous section of vinyl insert that came loose last weekend. I noticed all of it's molding is dull and nearing end of life. I have a 1 1/2" lower molding that requires a 1" chrome vinyl insert. It's been hot here in AZ and my molding is coming unglued piece by piece. 60' wraps the entire rig and rock guard's (if I don't goof up anywhere).

Cheers,
rickcaz

Hi tkowalyk,
I followed Brown Trout's advice for my 2009 Flying Cloud 23. The rub railing is 1", the smaller 5/8" chrome insert fits inside. Woodland Airstream had a better price in September 2020 than local auto parts stores and RV dealers (even including shipping). The results are amazing. I used dealer-recommended denatured alcohol for cleaning out the old adhesive.

My order from Woodland Airstream Parts and RV Accessories Store:

Airstream 1" Rub Rail Chrome Insert Trim Molding - 201763-100 × 60 = $145.80

Subtotal $145.80
Shipping $71.13
Taxes $0.00
Total $216.93 USD

Cheers,
rickcaz
