I have a 63 Overlander that has aluminum (double axel) wheel wells. Would you guys try to patch the tearing corners (and how) or get new ones. I'm saving some weight by using Coosa board so I thought I might have thin steel ones made so I don't have to worry about rocks punching through. Thoughts?

I think they are normally galvanized steel. Mine were crappy looking so I had new ones made up but a couple of gauges heavier. Depending on bad they are I'd consider just patching with galvanized sheet, if they are aluminum I'd replace them with galvanized or much heavier aluminum.

Mine were in about the same condition as yours

I cleaned them up, patched where necessary, hit them with rust converter and reinstalled them.

Do what you feel comfortable with
