Removing the Air Conditioner and adding a skylight

Hey guys, new here. Just bought a 76' argosy and removed the interior, painting, fixing the floor, and on my way to adding a whole new setup. Having a great time. (ok fine, I'm fixing the floor tomorrow so I reserve the right to retract that having a great time statement.)

Question? I really want to pull off the air conditioner and replace it with a skylight. Can anyone direct me to a link or offer advice as to how this might be done. I'm a little intimidated by the notion of building the whole curb and interior detail out of aluminum. Is this something I could do partially in teak? Are there any prefab kits that make it easier. Not sure where to start. anything is helpful.

Are you adding a different kind of AC somewhere else? By the way, my last name is also Schulz.

Bdian,,
Remove AC. secure drain and power lines in case you reverse direction.

Measure opening... go to sheet metal shop and have them build a "curb ". Make it same dimension as other roof curb.have joints welded..(a must) .

Use C channel aluminum to support gap between roof and ceiling. Secure with Olympic rivets. Next mount curb and Maxim skylight.
