removing Dometic AC from 2007 Classic

Hi - my Dometic 13.5K BTU AC has finally failed, but more than that, it's shroud is coming to pieces, and I'm afraid of towing it like it is.
So I want to remove it. I've taken apart the interior moulding and it's mechanical and electrical connections as well as the drain tube.
Does anyone have any recommendations about removing all of the glue/adhesive that holds this down?
Are there two different layers? One immediately about the 14in roof hole, and another about the perimeter of the AC unit itself?

Thanks
Paul

I ended up using a 12in thin blade carving knife, and repeatedly pushed thru the sealant from the inside hole. Took quite a while, but finally successful. Luckily only one moat of sealant to go thru.
