My fridge doesn't have that. Must be a newer feature. The only switch I have is the high humidity switch to control the door frame heater.

May not get no bulb. Maybe a refrigerator light is over-rated.

Sorry, I got to this thread late but I had the same problem a couple days ago - light would not come on. Bulb was good; problem turned out to be a bad fuse on the control board--the 5 amp mini fuse. I have no idea what caused it to blow, but it has not reoccurred. And I did not notice anything else that was affected by that fuse.

Perhaps the light bulb is installed backwards, and it's coming on when the door closes... I'd check for a light on with the door closed before laying out so much cash.

I'm betting those are the shorter (but less expensive) ones for a car dome light.
I made that mistake already.
