Well, I suspect that your range hood fan runs on DC power, and therefore, if it is running backwards suddenly, there must be a reverse in polarity. So either the wiring of the fan has been manipulated, and replaced backwards, or possibly the + and - terminals of the battery itself have gotten swapped. Have you replaced the batery or done any other electrical work recently?

good luck!
Thanks for your info. No change in battery, or fan wiring, or other wiring. fan wires are intact and good shape, no blockage in vent. Reverse polarity is the only response I get from numerous sources, but nothing has changed? confusing. Thanks for your response.
