My 22 foot argosy is languishing in a shell off restoration. Can it be moved with the belly pan and interior skin removed? Will this cause damage to the outer skin?.So I'm wondering if it can be moved without the wood framework inside.

Maybe you could install temporary bracing? Double-diagonals, i.e. an "X" brace, made of 2×4 lumber, fastened to the frames in two or three places? You'd have to install carefully to make sure the diagonals don't touch the skin, only the frame, but they should serve to stiffen the unit.

If it's "shell off," what are you moving? The shell, the frame, or what?
If the shell is attached to the frame, but with no belly pan or interior skin, no problem--the interior skin adds little to the rigidity of the shell. Once you have moved, however, you need to jack the frame to get it level and flat or you'll never match up the interior skin holes to the ribs.
