My wife convinced me so Really I don't know, but...

My suggestion would be to get her in one that's in decent shape, make sure all of the shades/curtains are open and it doesn't smell bad... hope she falls in love.

I know every airstream I've been in that wasn't all closed up invoked a sense of freedom and happiness, and I have no idea why exactly. I've been in a couple that I considered buying and walked away from but I still loved them, especially one of them that sometimes I wish I had bought, but really it was too big of a project and too much $$ for us at the time.

Keep in mind that there are lots of them out there if you're willing to drive. Our last purchase we were based in Charlotte NC, and drove to FL, and TN, before finding the one in NOVA.

The one in FL was at a very dishonest dealer or we would have never made the drive. They said everything worked and was in good shape, the rear floor was rotten and I almost went through, and the fridge didn't work, plus who knows what else didn't work, didn't stay long enough to find out.

I also agree with others that have said decide what you want and find it at a price you can deal with.

Also agree that you should purchase the "best" one you can find/afford. for instance you may find one for 4-5K that doesn't have the floor rot or excessive rodent evidence. Those things are worth paying a little more, it. could save a lot of work.

Also it's rare that you can't fix the water heater or furnace fairly cheaply. These things are resilient. I replaced our furnace, but only because ours wasn't working, we live in it full time, and I only had 2-3 days to get it fixed, if they had to order a part I would've been SOL with no heat for winter.
