Yeah, we used one on our
1960 Pacer. The one that we used was advertised for pop-ups (it was only 6 feet long, as I recall) but it fit the awning track of the Pacer just fine. As I recall, for the pop-up application they said it could be left in place on the trailer, covered by the accompanying bag, when on the road, but we removed it and put it in the back of the pickup truck when getting under way.
Now that we have a newer Airstream with a Zip Dee I will say that the Zip Dee is a lot more convenient than a pole awning, but our Shademaker worked fine.
